A new business was opening and one of the owner’s friends wanted to send him flowers for the occasion.
He went to the town’s largest florist shop and ordered an exquisite flower arrangement.
They arrived at the new business site and the owner read the card, which said: ‘Rest in Peace’.
Fury surged within him. How could anyone be so insensitive? Was this some twisted joke? He dialed the florist’s number, his voice trembling with anger.
“Is this a sick prank?” he demanded. “Sending funeral flowers to a café opening?”
The florist on the other end listened patiently, then replied, “Sir, I apologize profusely for the mistake.
But before you get too upset, consider this: somewhere out there, today, there’s a funeral taking place. And they have flowers with a note saying, ‘Congratulations on your new location!’”
